A Raycast Clipboard History alternative: a standalone clipboard manager

Read on October 6, 2026. Prices and features change.

Summary

Raycast's Clipboard History is one extension inside a launcher you may already use, and the free plan keeps 3 months of history. Copytrove is a single-purpose clipboard manager with a visual shelf, a one-time Pro price and a 7-day free history. If you already live in Raycast, you may not need another app. If you want a dedicated clipboard tool without a launcher or a subscription, Copytrove is an option.

Where Raycast Clipboard History is better

  • 3 months of free history against our 7 days S11. This is the first objection we expect.
  • You may already have it. The Free plan includes built-in extensions such as Clipboard History S11; there is nothing more to install or pay for.
  • It sits with your launcher, window management and other extensions.
  • Universal Clipboard with iPhone and iPad is mentioned on its page S12; Copytrove has no iPhone or iPad support.

Where Copytrove may fit better

  • You want a dedicated clipboard app with a visual shelf of cards, not a list inside a launcher.
  • You want unlimited history without a monthly fee or an AI plan: one-time Pro.
  • You want Paste Stack for pasting several items in order, and on-device OCR for images.
  • You want sensitive data such as card numbers and API keys masked.

How to switch from Raycast Clipboard History

  1. Install Copytrove. History starts from that moment; it does not import Raycast history.
  2. Pick a shelf shortcut that does not clash with the Raycast hotkey for Clipboard History.
  3. Run both for a few days if you like. Clipboard History is part of Raycast, so you do not have to remove anything to try Copytrove.
  4. Move pinned items you need by copying them out and dragging cards into a Copytrove pinboard.
  5. Keep Raycast for everything else.

FAQ

Is Copytrove cheaper than Raycast Pro?
Raycast's Free plan already includes clipboard history, so you may pay nothing there. Copytrove Pro is $19.99 once; Raycast Pro is $10 a month or $96 a year and includes AI.
Does Copytrove keep history as long as Raycast?
Not in the free version: 7 days against Raycast's 3 months. Pro is unlimited.
Does Copytrove replace Raycast?
No. It only manages the clipboard. It is not a launcher.
Is my clipboard uploaded?
No. It stays on your Mac, and OCR runs on the device.
